Let’s normalize not waiting for a special occasion

You can’t pour from an empty cup

Over the years, I've noticed that many women put themselves at the bottom of their own priority list. They take care of their families, careers, homes, and responsibilities while convincing themselves that they don’t need the same care and attention they selflessly give to everyone else. That things like massages or facials are luxury or indulgent but your body and skin matter and are part of your health & wellness.

Your skin is your body's largest organ. It works around the clock to protect you from the sun, environmental stressors, changing weather, makeup, and everything else you encounter throughout the day. It puts up with a lot and you probably aren’t sure how to support it through all those things.

Professional skincare and facials aren’t about vanity. It's about supporting the health of your skin and giving it the care it deserves. Your skin needs specialized attention from time to time not just when its angry at you.

Your Skin Works Hard Every Day

Just as we schedule dental cleanings to maintain our teeth and massage appointments to care for our bodies, facials are an important part of maintaining healthy skin. When not taken care of our skin gets a build up that causes dryness that no moisturizer can fix, if this is persistent then we get things like breakouts, inflammation, sensitivity. Regular facials help support hydration, encourage healthy circulation, remove buildup that daily cleansing can miss, and provide an opportunity to assess your skin's changing needs.

Professional Skincare Is not Indulgent

One of the things I love most about facials is that they offer benefits beyond your skin.

For one hour, you get permission to slow down.

No emails.
No errands.
No taking care of everyone else.

Just time to rest while you get to enjoy someone else caring for you for a change.

That kind of pause is often harder to find than we realize. And unfortunately if usually needs planning.

Many of my clients are so excited to get bright glowing skin and skincare recommendations, but what they notice right away is how tense their jaw and neck feels and how wonderful it is to take a break and mentally check out.

That's one of the reasons I created the Restore Facial.

The Restore Facial combines LED therapy, warm and cool thermal therapy, gua sha facial massage, and customized skincare to support healthy, hydrated skin while creating a deeply relaxing experience.

The Actual Benefits of Regular Facials

We all know that facials help clean our skin and you can wash your face at home but what you don’t have at home is 20 years of experience analyzing skin concerns and recommending the right products to help you with your glow or an expert massage therapist that knows exactly how to work on the muscles of your face to relax your jaw, get your eye to stop twitching and your neck to finally relax and help with your flow.

So in addition to nice clean skin a facial with an experienced esthetician that is also a massage therapist that focuses on facial massage with leave you glow, relaxed and sculpted.

The Restore Facial

As a dual massage therapist and esthetician I love to combine the benefits of both into my facial and always prioritize wellness in my facial services. That was at the core of developing the restore facial it incorporates warm and cool therapies to help refresh the skin and reduce the appearance of puffiness. LED therapy supports healthy-looking skin, while gua sha facial massage encourages circulation and helps release tension often held in the face and jaw.

Every treatment is customized because your skin is unique. What your skin needs today may be different from what it needed six months ago. Which is a good reminder to check in with your estthecian and your skin care needs will likely change throughout the year.

Whether you've never had a facial before or you're looking to make professional skincare a more regular part of your wellness routine, I want you to know this:

It's okay to take care of yourself.

It's okay to invest in your skin.

It's okay to spend an hour doing something that makes you feel refreshed, relaxed, and cared for.

You matter.

Your wellbeing matters.

And your skin is a part of you that deserves care, too.
